On Wednesday the 22nd of January, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country.

22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from Doncaster, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1999, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

6 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the "Riga" Airport, the Silene and the Zilupe Border Control Points 1 citizen of Peru, and 1 - of Moldova were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 3 citizens of Belarus were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners have already resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. At the Riga Passenger Port 1 citizen of Russia (seaman) was detected, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. As regards the Russian citizen, a letter of guarantee has been taken from the master of the ship that the man will not disembark from the ship at the port of Riga, the other persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Kirgizstan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 10 persons - 3 citizens of Estonia, 3 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of India, 1 - of Russia and 1 - of Lithuania.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 6 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Belarus, 2 - of Russia and 1 - of Latvia.
