On Tuesday the 23rd of January, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 2 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the country of exit.At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia and 1 citizen of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 persons - 2 citizens of Estonia, 1 - of Pakistan and 1 - of Latvia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 9 citizens of Latvia, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Romania and 1 - of Russia.
