On Thursday the 24th of January, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country.

14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Ukraine with forged documents was detected

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine with a forged driving licence was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. Within the framework of criminal proceedings, the false driving license was seized.

4 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Ukraine and 1 - of Kazakhstan were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 2 foreigners

At the Silene and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Belarus and 1 - of Ukraine, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 3 citizens of Russia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Latvia, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Poland, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Belarus.
