Events at the state border and within the country - January 26, 2020

On Sunday the 26th of January, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 30 offenders at external borders and within the country.

15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

At the Riga Passenger Port 1 citizen of Lithuania, entered Latvia, with forged Lithuanian Driving Licence was detected. Criminal procedure was initiated for the use of forged documents. The person was placed in a State Police short-term detention facility.

At the Terehova and the Silene Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 2 citizens of Estonia and 1 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 3 citizens of Estonia, 2 - of Latvia, 1 - of Poland, 2 - of Russia, 1 - of Hungary, 1 - of Ukraine, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Tajikistan.
