Events at the state border and within the country - January 28, 2019

On Monday the 28th of January, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 19 offenders at external borders and within the country.

9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from London, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1986, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

1 foreigner was refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The person was returned to the exit country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Albania.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 7 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Azerbaijan, 1 - of Belarus, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of Canada, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Ukraine.
