On Sunday the 8th of July, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 40 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 3 persons, who are on the police wanted list, were detained
At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of German and 2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.
• 4 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, and 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners
At the Silene and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Ukraine (woman) and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Ukraine was not commenced, as the violation was trivial in nature, the both other persons were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 8 persons - 7 citizens of Lithuania and 1 - of Ukraine.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Russia, 3 - of Belarus, 3 - of Lithuania, 2 - of Estonia and 1 - of Serbia.
