On Monday, 16 July, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 39 offenders.

At the external borders 16 offenders were detected, including:

One citizen of Nigeria with travel documents of another person was detained

At Zilupes Rail Border Control Point one citizen of Nigeria with travel documents belonging to another Nigerian citizen and a permit to stay in Austria was detected. The documents were alienated, the person called to administrative liability and returned to the country of departure.

Entry into Latvia was denied to 8 foreigners

Entrance to Latvia via the "Riga" airport Border Control Point was barred to one citizen of Australia as he had not a valid visa or residential permit at his disposal. The entrance to Latvia was also denied to on citizen of Columbia as he had the ban to enter and to reside in the territory of the Schengen area. Meanwhile at Pāternieku Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 6 Ukrainian citizens as they were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and did not have sufficient livelihoods for visiting Schengen countries. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 10 persons - 5 Ukrainian , 2 Russian, 1 Estonian, I Lithuanian and 1 Azerbaijani citizen.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 13 persons - 5 Russian, 4 Belarussian, 2 Lithuanian, 1 German and 1 Estonian citizen.
