On Tuesday, 17 July, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 39 offenders.

At the external borders 16 offenders were detected, including:

Detained 1 Latvian citizen being in police search

1 Latvian citizen, who is in the police search, was detected in Goliševas parish, Krāslavas district. Woman, born in 1991, was detained and handed over to the State Police officials.

Entry into Latvia was denied to 5 foreigners

Entrance to Latvia via Zilupes Border Control Point was barred to one citizen of Senegal as he had not a valid visa or residential permit at his disposal. At Silenes Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 2 Moldovan 1 Ukrainian citizen as they were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and did not have sufficient livelihoods for visiting Schengen countries. Meanwhile at "Riga" airport Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 1 citizen of Argentina, as the foreigner had already stayed 90 days from the last period of 180 days in the territory of Schengen states. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

Breach of the stay requirements identified to 4 foreigners:

At Grebņevas and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 4 citizens of Russia were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residence permit). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation cases were not initiated to 2 Russian citizen, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

 Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 8 persons - 4 Lithuanian, 2 Latvian, 1 Kazakhstan and 1 Russian citizen.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 15 persons - 5 Russian, 3 Belarussian, 2 Lithuanian, 2 Latvian, 2 Moldovan and 1 Uzbekistan citizen.
