On Wednesday, 18 July, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 52 offenders.

At the external borders 28 offenders were detected, including:

Detected 1 citizen of Bangladesh with forged documents.

At Zilupes Border Control Point detected 1 citizen of Bangladesh with forged identification card of Spain. ID card alienated, the person was adjudged administrative penalty and returned to the country of departure.

Detained 2 citizens of Latvia in police search

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 1 Latvian citizen travelling from Larnaca and during the passengers' profiling in Riga Passenger Port detected 1 Latvian non-citizen, who was travelling from Stockholm, both men were in police search. Men, born 1991 and 1976, were detected and handed over to the State Police officials.

Entry into Latvia was denied to 10 foreigners

At "Riga" airport, Grebņevas and Terehovas Border Control Points entry to Latvia was denied to 2 citizens of Russia and 1 of Kazakhstan, as they did not possess valid visa or residential permit; to 1 citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner had already stayed 90 days from the last period of 180 days in the territory of Schengen states, 1 Georgia citizen , as the foreigner had a ban to enter and to stay in the territory of Schengen states; at Silenes Border Control Point entry to Latvia was denied to 1 Belarussian, as the foreigner did no possess mandatory life and health insurance, meanwhile at Pāternieku Border Control Point entry to Latvia was denied to 4 Ukrainian citizens as the foreigners couldn't justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and did not have sufficient livelihoods for visiting Schengen countries. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

Breach of the stay requirements identified to 7 foreigners:

At Grebņevas, Silenes and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 4 Russian, 1 Belarussian, 1 Tajikistan and 1 Ukrainian citizen were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the stay period indicated in visa). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation case were not initiated to 2 Russain and 1 Ukrainian citizen, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Exit from the country denied to 2 Latvian citizens

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 1 Latvian citizen , who didn't have a valid travel document , meanwhile at Grebņevas Border Control Point detected 1 Latvian non-citizen, who didn't have travel document permitting to travel outside the territory of Schengen states. Persons were denied to leave the country.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 10 persons - 6 Ukrainian,1 Russian citizen, 1 Estonian, 1 Polish citizens and 1 Estonian stateless person.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 14 persons - 4 Russian, 4 Latvian, 3 Lithuanian, 1 Uzbekistan, 1 Belarussian and 1 Estonian citizen.
