On Thursday, 19 July, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 39 offenders.
At the external borders 12 offenders were detected, including:
Entry into Latvia was denied to 6 foreigners
Entrance to Latvia at "Riga" airport Border Control Point was barred to 2 citizens of the Republic of Chad as they did not possess valid visa or residential permit; meanwhile at Pāternieku Border Control Point entry to Latvia was denied to 4 Ukrainian citizens as the foreigners couldn't justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and did not have sufficient livelihoods for visiting Schengen countries. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
Breach of the stay requirements identified to 3 foreigners:
At Terehovas, Pāternieku and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 2 Ukrainian and 1 Uzbekistan citizen were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the stay period indicated in visa). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation case were not initiated to 1 Ukrainian citizen, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 9 persons - 4 Lithuanian , 4 Ukrainian and 1 Russian citizen.
Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 18 persons - 6 Russian, 4 Latvian, 2 Uzbekistan, 2 Estonian, 1 French, 1 Lithuanian, 1 Belarussian and 1 Ukrainian citizen.
