On Sunday, June 10, 2018, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia have detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
23 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
• entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 12 foreigners:
At "Pāternieki", "Silene" and Airport "Riga" Border Control Points, 2 citizens of Russia were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia as persons were not in a possession of valid visas or residence permits, as well, entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 citizens of Ukraine and 1 citizen of Argentina, as persons could not justify purpose and circumstances of their stay, as well as persons were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit Schengen countries and 1 citizen of Georgia, as person has a prohibition to travel or stay in the territory of the Schengen area. Persons were returned to the country of exit.
• conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area was violated by 3 foreigners:
At "Zilupe" and Airport "Riga" Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia and 1 citizen of Cuba, who have violated conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (were not in a possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded duration of stay of visa) were detected. Both citizens of Russia were subjects of administrative liability, in case of citizen of Cuba administrative proceedings were not initiated, due to the insignificance of the infringement.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 11 persons - 6 citizens of Ukraine and 5 citizens of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - 14 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Lithuania, 3 citizens of Latvia and 1 citizen of Belarus.
