Events at the state border and within the country - May 11, 2019

On Saturday, the 11th of May 2019 State Border Guard's officials detected 49 offenders at external borders and within country.

27 trespassers were detected at the external borders, inter alia:

At the border control points "Pāternieki", "Terehova" and in the Riga International Airport entry into territory of the Republic of Latvia has been refused for 13 citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and were not into possession of sufficient funds to visit the Schengen area. All persons returned to the country of departure.

At the border control points "Terehova" and in the Riga International Airport detected 1 citizen of Azerbaijan and 2 citizens of Russia who violated conditions of the residence in Schengen area (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded in visa allowed period of stay, etc.). Administrative liability process was not started.

Performing immigration control activities within the country violation of entry or residence conditions into the Republic of Latvia have been detected for 3 citizens of Lithuania and 3 citizens of Estonia.

Violating terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and water transport the State Border Guard of Latvia subjected to administrative liability 16 persons - 4 citizens of Belarus, 3 citizens of Russia, 3 citizens of Latvia, 1 citizen of Czech Republic, 1 citizen of Serbia, 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 citizen of Estonia and 1 citizen of Kazakhstan.
