Events at the state border and within the country - May 15, 2019

On Wednesday, the 15th May 2019 State Border Guard officials detected 47 offenders at external borders and within country.

29 of border trespassers were detected at the external borders, inter alia:

Two citizens of the Republic of Latvia in wanted list has been detained

At the border control point in the Riga International Airport detected one from Doncaster and one from London arriving citizen of the Republic of Latvia at the moment in wanted list. Men born 1997 and 1992 was detained and handed over to State Police officials.

Entry into the Republic of Latvia has been refused for five persons

At the border control point "Terehova" entry into territory of the Republic of Latvia has been refused for 2 citizens of Russia as foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the border control point "Pāternieki" entry into territory of the Republic of Latvia has been refused for 2 citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and were not into possession of sufficient funds to visit the Schengen area. Also entry has been refused for one citizen of Ukraine as foreigner has denial of entry into the Schengen area. All persons returned to the country of departure.

Five persons detected violating residence conditions

At the border control point "Terehova" and in the Riga International Airport detected 1 citizen of Uzbekistan, 2 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Turkey and 1 citizen of Georgia who violated conditions of the residence in Schengen area (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded in visa allowed period of stay, etc.). All persons had been subjected to administrative liability.

Departure of the country refused for one person

At border control point in the Riga International Airport detected one citizen of the Republic of Latvia who was not in a possession with valid travel document. Departure of the Republic of Latvia for person has been denied.

Performing immigration control activities within the country violation of entry or residence condition into the Republic of Latvia have been detected for 5 citizens of Ukraine and 3 citizens of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and water transport the State Border Guard of Latvia subjected to administrative liability 10 persons - 2 citizens of Latvia, 2 citizens of Belarus, 2 citizens of Ukraine, 2 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Uzbekistan and 1 citizen of Poland.
