On Thursday the 16th of May, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including 6 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia:at the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the "Riga" Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Georgia and 3 - of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 1 citizen of Georgia was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 2 citizen of Latvia, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Estonia and 1 - of Lithuania.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Belarus, 2 - of Russia, 1 - of Estonia, 1 - of Ukraine, 1 - of Poland, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Kazakhstan and 1 - of Tajikistan.
