On Tuesday, the 18th of May State Border Guard officials at the external border within the country detected 31 offenders.

At the external border 7 offenders were detected:

  • 3 persons with forged documents were detected

While carrying out immigration control in the Medumi Parish of the Daugavpils Municipality, one Lithuanian citizen with fake Covid-19 test was detected, as well as  in the Eleja Parish of the Jelgava Municipality - one more Lithuanian citizen with fake Covid-19 test was detected. Both persons were held administratively liable. During passenger profiling at the Riga Airport Border Control Point, one Pakistani citizen was identified, who presented to border guards a fake Spanish Citizen Identification Card and a fake Covid-19 test. Record-keeping in an administrative violation matter was commenced against the person concerning the use of fake Covid-19 test, while criminal proceedings were initiated against the person for the use of forged document and concealing the identity. The person was placed in the State Police Temporary Detention Place.

  • 1 person, who are on the police wanted list, was detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 non-citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1957 was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

  • Entry into Latvia was denied to 1 foreigner

At Grebņevas Border Control Point entry to Latvia was denied to 1 citizen of Russia, as the foreigner did not possess valid visa or residential permit. Person was returned to the country of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 23 persons – 5 citizens of Estonia, 3 – of Latvia, 3 – of Lithuana, 3 – of Poland, 3 – of Finland, 3 – of Ukrain, 2 – of France and 1 – of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 1 citizen of Poalnd was subjected to administrative liability or was refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard.
