On Thursday the 24th of May, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered from London, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1971, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 4 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the Schengen zone and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Ukraine and 1 citizen of Tajikistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 non-citizen of Latvia, who was not in possession of valid document to travel outside the Schengen area, was detected. The person was refused exit from Latvia.While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 4 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Pakistan.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 7 citizens of Russia, 4 - of Belarus, 3 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia, 1 -of Latvia, 1 - of Kazakhstan and 1 - stateless person of Estonia.
