Events at the state border and within the country - May 27, 2019

On Monday the 27th of May, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country.

19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

Carrying out check on passengers' list at the Port of Ventspils 1 citizen of Latvia entered from Sweden, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia (female) entered from London, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1985 and the woman, born in 1987, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

2 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Tajikistan was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and she was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 5 foreigners

At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 - of Uzbekistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 2 citizens of Uzbekistan, 2 - Lithuania and 1 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 3 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Moldova and 1 - of Armenia.
