On Wednesday, 30 May, 2018, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia have detected 41 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including,
• 2 persons, who are on the wanted-list, were detained:
At Airport "Riga" Border Control Point, 1 citizen of Latvia traveling from London, who was on the State Police's wanted-list, in order to ensure execution of the sentence related to imprisonment, was detected, at the same time at Airport "Riga" Border Control Point, during person profiling, 1 non - citizen, who was on the State Police's wanted-list was detected. Both persons were arrested and places in the State Police's short - term place of detention;
• exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 non - citizen of Latvia:
At Airport "Riga" Border Control Point 1 non - citizen of Latvia, who was planning to travel to Dublin without valid travel document, was detected. Person was refused the right to exit the Republic of Latvia.
• entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 2 foreigners:
At "Terehova" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia was refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia, as person was not in a possession of valid visa or residence permit, at the same time at Airport "Riga" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia as person is prohibited to enter and stay in the territory of the Schengen area. Both persons were returned to the country of exit.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 2 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Latvia, 1 citizen of Lithuania and 1 citizen of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - 6 citizens of Latvia, 2 citizens of Russia, 2 citizens of Belarus, 2 citizens of Lithuania, 1 citizen of Georgia and 1 citizen of Serbia.
