On Thursday, May 31, 2018, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia have detected 33 offenders of both external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 1 citizen of Germany with forged documents was detected:
At "Terehova" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Germany, traveling out of Latvia with a car, using forged Serbian driver's license was detained. Criminal proceeding was initiated for the use of forged documents.
• conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area was violated by 1 foreigner:
At Airport "Riga" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Georgia, who has violated conditions of residence of the Schengen area (was not in a possession of valid visa or residence permit) was detected. Person is subject to administrative liability.
• entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners:
At "Terehova" Border Control Point the right to enter the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Moldova, as person is prohibited to enter and stay in the territory of the Schengen area, at the same time at "Pāternieki" Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia as person could not justify purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay in Latvia, as well as was not in a possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit Schengen countries. Both persons were returned to the country of exit.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence were detected to 4 persons -1 citizen of Latvia, 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 citizen of Estonia and 1 citizen of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Belarus, 2 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 citizen of Estonia and 1 citizen of Moldova.
