Events at the state border and within the country - November 23, 2019

On Saturday the 23rd of November, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.

21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

6 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

At the Zilupe Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia entered Latvia from Russia, at the
Riga Passenger Port 1 citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Sweden and at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia, entered the country from Brussel, 1citizen of Latvia entered the country from London, 2 citizens of Latvia, 1 - entered the country from Dublin and 1 - leaving Riga for Dublin, who are on the Police wanted list, were detected. The men, born in 1978, 1984, 1965 and 3 men, born in 1987, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

1 foreigner was refused entry into Latvia

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, was refused entry into Latvia. The person was returned to the exit country.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners

At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Kazakhstan, 1 - of Russia and 1 - of Tajikistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Russia was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Belarus, 4 - of Russia, 3 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Estonia, 1 - of Kazakhstan, 1 - of Germany and 1 - of Latvia.
