Events at the state border and within the country - October 10, 2019

On Thursday the 10th of October, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country.

15 trespasser were detected at external borders, including:

2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia leaving Riga for London and at the Riga Passenger Port, while carrying out profiling of passenger, 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from Sweden, who are on the police wanted list, were detected. The men, born in 2001 and 1995, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

3 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit country.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 1 foreigner

At the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit), was detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Belarus was not commenced.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 4 citizens of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Belarus, 2 - of Latvia, 1 - of Czech Republic, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Russia.
