On Friday the 7th of September, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 41 offenders at external borders and within the country.
29 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 9 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 8 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Tajikistan was refused entry into Latvia as the foreigner has already used the period of stay in the territory of the Schengen Area authorised by the visa. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners
At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Azerbaijan and 1 - of Uzbekistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The citizen of Russia was subject to administrative liability; record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the other 2 persons was not commenced.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 2 citizens of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Latvia, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Ukraine.
