On Saturday the 8th of September, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.
23 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 9 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Silene Border Control Point 5 citizens of Belarus and 1 - of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 2 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the Port of Ventspils 1 citizen of Ukraine (seaman) was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. Regarding the seaman a letter of guarantee has been taken from the master of the vessel that the foreigner will not get off the vessel during its stay at the port; the other persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners
At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Ukraine and 1 - of India, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 1 citizen of Ukraine and the citizen of India was not commenced, as the violation was trivial in nature; the other persons were subject to administrative liability.
• 5 persons were refused exit from the country
At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Italy who were not in possession of valid travel document, and 1 non-citizen of Latvia, whose passport is not valid for traveling outside the territory of the Schengen area, were detected. All the persons were refused exit from the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 14 persons - 6 citizens of the Philippines, 4 - of Lithuania and 4 nationals of India.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 2 citizens of Lithuania, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Russia, 1 - of Uzbekistan, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of German and 1 - of Italy.
