On Wednesday, September 11 State Border Guard officers at the external border and inside the country detected 35 offenders.
At the external border 23 offenders were detected, including:
• 1 wanted person (citizen of Latvia) was detained
At "Riga" Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia who arrived from London was detected as a person wanted by police. Person was detained and handed over to State police officers.
• 3 foreigners were refused to enter Latvia
At Grebneva Border Control Point one citizen of Russia was refused to enter Latvia on the purpose of lack of valid visa or residence permit, at Paternieki and "Riga" Airport Border Control Point, in its part, 2 citizens of Ukraine were refused to enter Republic of Latvia, because persons were not able to justify the purpose of his/her intended stay and didn't have sufficient means of subsistence for visiting Schengen member states. All persons were returned to the country of departure.
• 11 overstayers were detected
At Terehova, Paternieki and "Riga" Airport Border Control Points were detected 4 citizens of Georgia, 3 citizens of Russia, 3 citizens of Ukraine and 1 citizen of Moldova who overstayed the permitted stay (overstayed permitted amount of days defined in visa, violation of permitted stay of visa free regime) on the territory of Schengen states. One citizen of Russia was exempted from administrative liability due to the minor offence, nonetheless other persons were subjected to administrative processing.
Operating Immigration control inside the country 4 persons were detected who violated entry or residence regime: 2 citizens of Lithuania, 1 citizen of Russia and 1 Latvian citizen.
State Border Guard officials detected 8 persons who violated exploiting of vehicles and vessels: 3 Lithuanian, 2 Russian, 1 German, 1 Estonian and 1 Ukrainian citizen.
