On Saturday the 15th of September, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• 9 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; and 5 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; as well as 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has already used the period of stay in the territory of the Schengen Area authorised by the visa. The persons were returned to the exit countries.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 2 foreigners
At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Ukraine and 1 - of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The both women were subject to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 11 persons - 7 citizens of Lithuania and 4 - of Estonia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Russia, 3 - of Latvia, 2 - of Uzbekistan and 1 - of Belarus.
