On Monday, February 10, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 174 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 3 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia entered Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Lithuanian residence permit, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged document.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Turkey and one - of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries), to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document, and entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, one – of Moldova, to one – of Ukraine and one – of Estonia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons - four citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Estonia, one – of Russia, one – of Pakistan and one – of China.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one - of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Georgia, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Ukraine.
