On Sunday, February 12, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point 1 citizen of Georgia, who presented to border guards forged Georgian driving license, and at the Terehova Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus, who presented to border guards forged vehicle registration certificate, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 21 foreigners
at the Terehova, Silene, the Grebņeva, the Vientuļi and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Turkish, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. 14 more citizens of Ukraine, two – of Russia and one – of Romania were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 citizens of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Croatia, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
