On Thursday, February 13, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 174 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 3 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 13 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizens of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. While at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to two citizens of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to five citizens of Belarus, one – of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

two citizen of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of India were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Ukraine, two – of Estonia, two – Lithuania, one - of Russia, one – of Bangladesh and one – of Turkey.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Kazakhstan, five - of Belarus, four – of Lithuania, two - of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
