On Friday, February 17, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Prdedze, Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Moldova, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Three more citizens of of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
five citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation of one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia, one departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, and other – for Tel Aviv without valid travel document (the document is registered as lost or stolen), were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - six citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Belarus and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Romania and one – of Uzbekistan.
