On Saturday, February 25, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 50 offenders at external borders and within the country.
33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 24 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Silene and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 citizens of Moldova and three – of Serbia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Ten more citizens of Ukraine and one - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - two citizens of Estonia, one – of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Russia, two – of Belarus, two – of Kirgizstan, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan and one - of Moldova.
