On Sunday, February 26, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners

at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the Grebņeva, the Pededze and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Brazil as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. Three more citizens of Ukraine and three - of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Ukraine was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa-free regime). The parson was subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Ukraine, one - of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, three – of Moldova, two – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of France, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Serbia.
