On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and two – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document. Four more citizens of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one - of Great Britain were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The parsons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons - two citizens of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Romania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Egypt.
