On Friday, May 21, a Cooperation Steering Group meeting was held at the State Border Guard, where the Heads of the State Border Guard, the State Police, the State Revenue Service, the Food and Veterinary Service and the State Environmental Service met.

During the meeting, the representatives of the institutions discussed topical issues in the field of inter-institutional cooperation, approved the "The Analysis of Possible Threats (Risks) to the Security of the State Border of the Republic of Latvia for 2020", as well as discussed topical issues in the field of risk analysis in the four months of 2021 within the respective competencies of the services and other issues related to state border security.

The Cooperation Steering Group meeting is organized based on the Cabinet of Ministers Instruction No.5 of May 5, 2010 "Procedures by which State Administration Institutions Co-operate in Matters of State Border Security". Group members are determined in accordance with the five-party inter-ministerial agreement of April 21, 2016 on co-operation in matters of state border security.
