On Monday, January 13, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 15 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document and to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Russia, three – of Serbia, three – of Latvia, one - of Belarus, one – of Estonia and one – of Ukraine.
