On Sunday, January 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 15 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 3 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including 5 foreigners who were refused entry into the Republic of Latvia. At the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine and one - of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons -  1 citizen of Lithuania and one – of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, three – of Latvia, three – of Russia, three - of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Albania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
