On Friday, January 27, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Vientuļi and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Israel, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. One more citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and two – of Russia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation of a Russian citizen was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London, without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Lithuania and one – of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, one – Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Slovakia, one – of Finland, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
