On Saturday, January 27, officials of the State Border Guard did not detect any attempts to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border by persons, while a total 5 persons have been stopped from illegally crossing the state border during this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country.
13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Moldova, who presented to border guards a forged Moldovan driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay, while at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and one - of Turkey were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving Latvia without valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – six citizens of Lithuania, one – of Estonia, one – of Ukraine, one – of Georgia and one - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, three – of Belarus, two – of Estonia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Georgia and one – of Uzbekistan.
