On Saturday, January 28, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 41 offenders at external borders and within the country.

19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners

at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Two more citizens of Russia and two – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner

one citizen of Russia was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – six citizens of Estonia, two – of Lithuania, one – of Russia and one – of Ukraine.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Estonia, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Moldova.
