On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Pededze, the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Seven more citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for five persons – four citizens of Estonia and one – of Moldova.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Russia, three – of Belarus, three – of Latvia, two - of Serbia, one – of Estonia, one – of Moldova and one – of Poland.
