On Monday, January 30, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 18 foreigners
at the Pededze, the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Syria, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. Fourteen more citizens of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan and one –of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Ukraine, three – of Kazakhstan, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Rumania, one - of Latvia, one – of Belarus and one – of Kirgizstan.
