On Saturday, January 4, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 36 offenders at external borders and within the country. 15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Russia and one – of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one – of Germany, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Morocco was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - five citizens of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
