On Monday, January 6, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 0 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 51 offenders at external borders and within the country. 30 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Belarus and two - of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners
five citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Turkey were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, as well as one minor citizen of Latvia (female), who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - three citizens of Estonia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Tajikistan.
