On Saturday, January 7, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country.

11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. As well as one citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 citizens of Estonia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, one – of Latvia, one - of Estonia, one – of Georgia, one – of Israel, one – of Kirgizstan, one – Moldova, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
