On Monday, July 10, 10 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4644 persons have been stopped this year.

Due to humanitarian reasons, five persons were not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; 218 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

On July 10, officials of the State Border Guard detected 54 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected

at the Vientuļi Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine, who presented to border guards forged Ukrainian vehicle driving license, was detected. As well as at the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Israel, who presented to border guards forged Belarusian vehicle technical inspection certificate, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal process.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners

at the Vientuļi, the Pededze and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to four citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

four citizens of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons - four citizens of Lithuania and one – of Latvia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Lithuania, one – of Latvia, one - of Russia, one – of Israel, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
