the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2940 persons have been stopped this year. 

 

A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

 

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Kazakhstan entered Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged International Vehicle Insurance Policy issued in Montenegro, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged document. The forged document was seized within the framework of criminal proceedings.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 18 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the „Riga” Airport, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 citizens of Moldova and one – of Kosovo, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, one – of Georgia, one – of Belarus and one - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners

two citizens of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan and one - of Turkey were detected at the „Riga” Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa for the Schengen States). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by three citizens was not initiated, while one citizen of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two citizens of Russia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, three – of Uzbekistan and two – of Latvia.
