the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2977 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted person – citizen of Latvia was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Amsterdam, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the „Riga” Airport and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 citizens of Moldova as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document (a passport presented valid for less than 3 months). As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners
eight citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Russia and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the „Riga” Airport, the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa for the Schengen States). While one citizen of Great Britain exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime. Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by five citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Great Britain was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to one person
at the the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia, departing for London without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for two citizens of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
