On Friday, July 12, 47 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3024 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 53 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards forged vehicle roadworthiness certificates, was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Azerbaijan, one – of Georgia and one – of Armenia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. While at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
two citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia and one – of Israel, who exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were held administratively liable.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - three citizens of of Estonia, two – of Georgia, one – of Russia, one – of Mauritania, and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 10 citizens of Belarus, four – of Latvia, four – of Lithuania, three – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Serbia.
