On Thursday, July 13, 35 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4698 persons have been stopped this year.
In total 222 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 13, officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country.
31 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova and four – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Azerbaijan and one – of Georgia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Three more citizens of Russia, three – of Israel and one - of USA were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Azerbaijan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Tivat, who was not in possession of valid travel document (the document has expired), and one citizen of Latvia, departing for Istanbul, who was not in possession of valid travel document (the document has been reported as stolen or lost), were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – nine citizens of Kirgizstan and one – of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
