On Sunday, July 14, 4 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 3042 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 45 offenders at external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two – citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Georgia, one – of Uzbekistan and one - of Ukraine were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female), departing for Russia without valid for travelling to Russia identity document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - two citizens of Estonia, two – of Georgia and two - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, two – of Romania, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania and one – of Germany.
