On Saturday, July 15, 51 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4765 persons have been stopped this year.
In total 227 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On July 15, officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia, who presented to border guards forged Polish vehicle driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal process.
- 1 wanted persons was detained
At the „Riga” Airport one citizen of Latvia entered from London, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to one citizen of the Philippines, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. One more citizen of Ukraine was banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Belarus were detected at the Terehova, the Silene, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in a visa or visa free-regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Batumi, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, and one – of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, two – of Moldova, one - of Latvia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Georgia, one – of Kirgizstan and one – of Germany.
